Text Box:                  Iredell County, perched on the northern edge of Mecklenburg, has experienced over a decade of fast growth.
Many newcomers seek the county’s proximity to Lake Norman, NASCAR shops and Charlotte.  Others are attracted by its low property tax rate.
Iredell has two public school systems, Iredell-Statesville Schools and the Mooresville Graded School District.  Iredell also is home to Mitchell Community College, with campuses in Mooresville and Statesville.
Mooresville, a former mill town, is now a town of about 23,000 and family for being home to more race car teams than any other town in America.
The NASCAR Technical Institute draws on Mooresville’s racing community to attract hundreds of students interested in building race cars or becoming auto dealership mechanics.  Pit-crew hopefuls take classes in Pit Instruction & Training LLC.
Fortune 500 company Lowe’s has its corporate base in Mount Mourne, just south of Mooresville.  The home-improvement giant could eventually employ 8,000 workers there.
