Our dream was to build a log home on the water, and this is exactly what we did, first finding the land, then designing the home ourselves with one of this area's wonderful builders. It was the experience of a lifetime. Now I specialize in helping other people whose dream it is to live on, or in view of, the lake. With Lake Realty, I've found the perfect niche. Greetings and well met, my name is Michelle Parris.  Originally from Phoenix, Arizona I grew up in Southern California.  I graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Marketing where I was very active in Greek Life as a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. 

After September 11th, I realized I was not living the life I wanted. Having taken a Feng Shui Day Course at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA I decided to pursue Feng Shui further.  I became a Certified Feng Shui Consultant in October 2001 at the Lotus Institute in Kirkland, WA under the guidance of Lillian Garnier Bridges. Returning to Southern California, I did a very thorough job of cleaning out my closets! In the Summer of 2002 after vacationing and falling in love with the area I moved to Davidson, NC.  

Starting my Real Estate Career in 2002, I worked over 5 years in New Home Sales with Ryland Homes, a Fortune 500 company where I used my Feng Shui, Financing and Real Estate skills to develop the base that allowed me to have the small farm I did want!  Prior to moving to North Carolina I sold Thomas Kinkade Artwork for Village Gallery  for approximately 4 years and for 10 years prior to that worked in Home Loan Underwriting/Auditing for companies now known as Wells Fargo, GMAC and Washington Mutual.

My husband and I moved to Davidson, NC, in September of 2003. We love it here. Both of us were born and raised in Memphis, TN. We attended Univ. of Memphis and in 1973 were transferred to Davenport, Iowa. From there we lived in Bloomfield Hills, MI and Chicago, IL. We have a daughter in Phoenix and a son here in Mooresville. We loved our time in the Midwest, but were transferred back to the South. When the children were in school I remained at home being very active as a volunteer for United Way and active in our church and schools.

I grew up in Houston TX, got married and moved to Charlotte in1987.  I have three sons, 2 will go to college this year and 1 still in middle school.  I had moved to Fort Mill, SC in 1998.

Doris Horton joined Lake Realty in June 2003.

Doris has earned her ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation as well as her GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) certification. She is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association. Doris earned her broker’s license in 2003.

Now licensed in North and South Carolina, Doris offers knowledge of the marketplace and the ability to listen to customer priorities and needs. She is dedicated to protecting client interests throughout the buying or selling process.

Doris has devoted portions of her time to foreign missions. Her involvement includes short term mission trips to Romania, and several locations in South America. For two years Doris lived and worked in Mexico and Brazil with the underprivileged and orphan populations.

She is a native North Carolinian and has an Associates Degree from Wilkes Community College. Her prior career focus was in the financial services arena for both the Poultry and Banking Industries.

Additionally, she enjoys family gatherings, whitewater rafting, golfing, jogging and numerous other hobbies in her free time.
