An Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) is a designation given by the Real Estate BUYER'S AGENT Council (REBAC) of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. To obtain this designation, agents must complete a comprehensive course in buyer representation; obtain a passing grade on the written examination; demonstrate practical experience by completing and closing multiple real estate transactions in which the agent functioned as a buyer representative; and maintain membership in good standing with the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and with the Real Estate BUYER'S AGENT Council. Buying a home is a very complex transaction with dozens of details to be handled. Most sellers are represented by an agent and so should buyers be in order to protect their best interests. Obtaining professional buyer representation costs nothing for the buyer. You can hire a buyer's agent who is not an ABR®, but why? |
